It depends of your preferences. Ingredients : 1 box of 1.5 oz. Zile Haitian Djondjon 2 cups of white or yellow rice 3 table spoon of cooking oil 2 garlic cloves 1 medium bunch of thyme 1 green onion stalk 4 cloves ¼ cup of Lima beans or green peas Salt and pepper to taste Step 1 – Preparing the Djondjon Water Bring 4 cups of water to a boil (4 cups of water will cook 2 cups of rice). After 3 minutes, add either ¼ cup of lima beans or green peas, (Pro tip: frozen beans and peas yield a better result than canned ones) and add a pinch of salt and black pepper (Haitian grandmother trick to ensure that the peas have some salt in them). Let everything fry for 5 minutes on medium heat. After the 5 minutes, pour in the strained black water. A few bits of Djondjon, about a table spoonful can also be added into it. Add salt as desired.
